The event ‘Creative Cities – Circular Futures’ highlights the key innovative potential of the Interreg project Creative Circular Cities (CCC). The project takes an integrative approach in which the cultural and creative industries act as strategic drivers to advance the transition from a linear to a circular economy. This approach is based on three key pillars: firstly, citizen participation and engagement, whereby cultural initiatives and participatory activities help to embed sustainable lifestyles in everyday life; secondly, the promotion of circular economic models that establish new business models and design processes within the creative industries; and thirdly, policy-making, which creates the political framework to support this transformation at a systemic level.
