MAXQDA is a leading programme for qualitative data analysis (QDA software). The software supports the analysis of text, image, audio, video, multimedia, and internet data (tweets, posts). The basic version (without additional quantitative tools) of MAXQDA 2024 is available free of charge as a campus licence.
The counselling is aimed at researchers who are working with MAXQDA in their research or who consider using the software, at any stage. In the initial conceptual phase of an empirical study with MAXQDA, counselling can help to avoid errors in design that are difficult to correct later. In a later phase, when MAXQDA has already been used, conceptual suggestions can also often be made, but above all there is an opportunity to discuss questions that have arisen. It is recommended that participants bring along their own MAXQDA project with embedded material or to make it available confidentially in advance. Interested candidates without a MAXQDA project file can bring suitable material (recordings, transcripts, tweets, etc.) and an outline of the research project.
Please note that the House of Young Talents is also offering a MAXQDA workshop this semester, which provides a systematic introduction to the most important basics of the software. Individual counselling can be booked separately or in addition to the workshop.
Prior registration is required.
