This Is How We Do It: International Best Practices for Diamond Open Access
The DFG-funded Service Centre for Diamond Open Access (SeDOA) invites you to attend the online event series ‘This Is How We Do It: International Best Practices for Diamond Open Access’.
EIGHTH EVENT:
On 16 November 2026, 2:00–3:00 p.m. (CEST) our guests are: Caroline Edwards (Professor of Contemporary Literature & Culture at Birkbeck, University of London, Executive Director, Open Library of Humanities & Open Journals Collective) and Thomas Shaw (Library Engagement Lead for the Open Journals Collective) The Open Journals Collective: Building a Sustainable Future for Diamond Open Access
This webinar will introduce the Open Journals Collective, a global movement that allows libraries to support diamond open access journals at scale via our library membership program. OJC works with a range of nonprofit publishers to provide sustainable funding and longevity for their journals. And we offer libraries an alternative to the world of commercial big deals and Transformative Agreements. This session will explore our motivations for founding OJC, our vision and operating model and our aspirations to partner with libraries and diamond publishers in Germany and across the world. Join us to hear more about building a sustainable future for journal publishing!
Join SeDOA for our new international event series launching in 2026. "This Is How We Do It" brings together global experts to go beyond theory and dive into the practical realities of Diamond Open Access.
In each session, international guests will showcase how they implement Diamond OA at their institutions and successfully integrate these initiatives into national frameworks. Whether you are looking for scalable solutions or want to discuss common challenges with peers, this series provides a platform for honest exchange and actionable insights.
