KEEP UP - with explosion protection

Fundamentals of the ATEX Directive and IECEx certification

All machines and installations, equipment and components to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres in the European Union (EU) must be in compliance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU. This directive requires that these products are planned, designed, constructed and tested before they are placed on the market. It defines the terms and conditions for approval on the EU market, while the corresponding certificate of conformity provides access to EU markets. Another marking system for explosion protection is IECEx, a certificate that facilitates international market access. It is either recognised directly or forms the basis of national approval procedures.

The webinar focuses on the fundamentals of product certification in accordance with ATEX and IECEx. It addresses common features in explosion protection requirements and, of course, also presents the differences between ATEX and IECEx and their respective certification processes.

Offering valuable information for all manufacturers of Ex equipment, the webinar is particularly useful for manufacturers who have had little experience with explosion protection to date but are now seeking to place their products in Ex design on EU and international markets. Along with enhancing their understanding of the requirements of directives and certifications, participants will gain clarity regarding their obligations and the relevant conditions.
