Friday Lecture Open4All
"Data and Metadata: Moving ahead"
Abstract: Digitization in medicine has focused on structuring data using strongly typed and organized attribute-value entities. This approach has led to an explosion of data models of all sizes, from single clinical observations to very large models, aiming to cover more or less the whole of medicine. At the end of October 2024, Martin Dugas' MDM website listed 25,338 distinct data models. The aim of this presentation is to open a debate on the desirability of finding a way to overcome the dynamics based on the hyperstructuring of medical data and its organization.
Speaker: Prof. Christian Lovis
University Hospital of Geneva, division of medical and information sciences
