Additive manufacturing now state of the art

It’s time to save costs and time with industrial AM readiness – iAMready

The implementation of industrially conform additive manufacturing is becoming standardized, and the implementation of production readiness has become cost effective. Within the first 15 years of AM industrialization, implementing production readiness was very experimental and R&D-driven. Individual expertise was crucial, and for most use cases only achievable by investing a lot of time and money. This fact lead to compromises on safety and part quality. Within the last three years, the TUV SUD AM team of 15 AM experts changed this by creating a standardized implementation process of industrial AM, as state-of-the-art procedure for all 3D-printing technologies.

Costs and time are now predictable and calculable. The new AM services-, of training, guidance, certification and physical as well as digital testing , are the key enabler to implement AM on an industrial level.

The following AM-specific standards and normative documents can be used already or will be released very soon: DIN SPEC 17071, ISO/ASTM CD 52920, ISO/ASTM WD 52930, ISO/ASTM 52901:2017, and many others.

We thus enable the safe, economically and sustainable production of high-quality 3D-printed components for end use.
