What International Students Need — and Their Potential in the Local Job Market
It is 2025 and it is about time for our 3rd Virtual Staff Training Days (VSTD)! This year we want to dedicate our training days to a very special and increasingly important topic - an aging population and the resulting shortage of skilled workers. The VSTD are hosted by the European Project Semester at the Hochschule für Technik und Wissenschaft (htw saar) in Germany. We want to introduce our very own projects, programs and initiatives for a successful integration of international students in the regionl job market, highlight the importance of the local industry and learn about the efforts and success stories from other universities on how higher education can better support international students and strengthen their connection to local industries. Together, we will explore the needs of international students during their academic journey, strategies for fostering belonging and ways to unlock their potential in the regional job market through early integration and collaboration with employers.
