Let's Talk About Careers
20.11.2026, 11:00 - 12:00 via Zoom
On November 20th 2026 we are having another talk in our lunch talk format - Let's Talk About Careers - in which we invite Alumni who have left academia to talk about their personal career paths. With this format we want to support doctoral researchers and postdocs of the university in their individual career orientation. Participants can find out about career paths outside of academia and meet scientists who have already taken the next career step and talk about their experiences and decision-making. The lunch talk is set up as a short interview with our guest on their personal career path and decision-making process and afterwards there will be room for questions.
For this talk, we are very happy that Dr. David Scheuermann has agreed to be our guest. Dr. Scheuermann studied Business Administration and did his PhD at the Chair of Marketing at the University of Tübingen. In 2023, he decided to take the step from academia into the business world. He joined BayWa r.e. Solar Energy Systems as Data Scientists in Supply Chain Management, where he was able to apply his analytical and academic skills to real-world business challenges. Today, he is Team Lead Data Intelligence, leading a small team of three data engineers and analysts, working on the digital transformation and on how data can be used to enable better Management decisions.
"Let's Talk About Careers" will take place in English via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom Link with your registration confirmation email.
