The video conferencing tool “Webex”, used by us for the event, is provided by UK-based Cisco International Ltd. With which the German Sport University Cologne has concluded a data processing agreement. The Cisco group (“Cisco”) has its headquarters in the USA. Both countries are so-called “third countries” outside the EU or the EEA, in which a level of data protection comparable to that in the EU cannot be assumed without further ado. The EU Commission has issued a so-called “adequacy decision” for the UK, in which an adequate level of data protection was determined for the country. The US company Cisco Systems, Inc., together with various affiliated US companies, has subjected itself to the regulations of the Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework and has thus committed to an adequate level of data protection.
