Exploring diversity-sensitive teaching through the anti-bias appraoch

Diversity harbors great potential for society, yet it might be challenging to address in practice. Educators have long recognized that role-modeling and teaching children how to value diversity can contribute to building more just and cohesive societies. The anti-bias approach, developed in the U.S. and South Africa, can help to become aware of conscious and unconscious notions we harbor towards difference and to address them in practical ways as a teacher in class. Two experienced trainers will work with participants in this workshop to reflect on their own experience with diversity, its impact in school settings, and sensitive teaching approaches.
