Technology and Software

The course includes computer-based practicals. All participants are expected to bring their own laptops with Stata installed. We cannot consider applications from students who will not have access to Stata. As an alternative R is accepted.

Software

I hereby confirm that I will bring a laptop with Stata installed. Alternatively, instead of Stata I have R installed.

Exam

Students from the participating Bavarian universities (Augsburg, Bamberg, Bayreuth, Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Erlangen-Nürnberg, LMU Munich, Passau, Regensburg, TU Munich, and Würzburg) are expected to take part in the exam. Applications from internal students who cannot participate in this exam will not be considered. For students from other Ph.D. programs (externals) the exam is optional. After successful participation in the final exam, you will receive a BGPE course certificate.

Please note: The exam will take place on site at your home university. Details on this will follow after the course has started.

Please read the following notes before filling out the application form:

1. After submitting the application, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that the automatic sending of the confirmation email only confirms the successful receipt of the application and does not guarantee participation in the course.

2. The course will take place in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm.

3. Preference will be given to Ph.D. students in Economics from the following Bavarian universities: Augsburg, Bamberg, Bayreuth, Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Erlangen-Nürnberg, LMU Munich, Passau, Regensburg, TU Munich and Würzburg . Students from other, in particular non-Bavarian, Ph.D. programs can participate if the course is not fully booked and if they pay a fee of 1,500 Euro per person in advance.
