Introduction to Slurm at the RWTH HPC Cluster

The HPC team at the RWTH cordially invites you to our recurrent online workshop titled: Introduction to Slurm at the RWTH HPC Cluster.​​​​​​​

The goal is to introduce the basics of Slurm and show how to get started with it at the RWTH HPC Cluster.
This introduction will therefore cover only basic concepts for new RWTH and external users.
It is also recommended that attendees become familiar with the various aspects of a Linux operating system before attending this introduction.
The topics that will be covered are:

-Access to the HPC Cluster
  --How to connect, VPN, modes
-Slurm basic concepts 
  --Jobs, Submission, Waiting, Canceling
-Inspecting available Hardware 
  --CPUs, GPUs
-Account and project quotas 
  --Core-Hours and disk space
-Requesting resources for Jobs  
  --Batch Jobs, Interactive Usage
-Slurm parallelism basics
-Best practices
