Introduction to AI in Architecture
Brief history, general uses and first steps in image and video generation.
This course introduces Artificial Intelligence and its growing role in architecture, urban planning, and construction. It provides a brief overview of the development of AI and presents current applications such as floor-plan generation, parametric and generative design, construction robotics, and Augmented Reality (AR).
The course then focuses on the fundamentals of AI-based image and video generation. Students will learn the basic differences between Large Language Models (LLMs) and visual generative models, and will be introduced to workflows such as text-to-image, image-to-image, inpainting, outpainting, image editing, and image-to-video generation. The aim is to provide a practical foundation for using generative AI in architectural design and visual communication.

- Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
- This course can be counted towards the “Wahlfach” (2 SWS / 2 ECTS) module in your degree programme.
