Info
Join us for our two-day international conference "Creating Spaces for Digital Futures" exploring the impact of digital transformation on public, learning, and data spaces. Researchers from various disciplines will present theoretical, empirical, and visionary research on how digital environments can be designed, perceived, and optimized. Together, we will investigate the interdependencies between individual practices and digital spaces, addressing challenges and opportunities for shaping the digital future.
Organizer of the Conference: CAIS
Since April 2021, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia has been supporting the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) in Bochum as a central institute for digitalization research. Through evidence-based solutions, CAIS contributes to shaping digital transformation in the interest of people. Founded as a research institute in early 2017, CAIS has since awarded fellowships to national and international guest researchers in the field of digitalization studies. The interdisciplinary teams at CAIS conduct research within three key research programs: Digital Democratic Innovations, Educational Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence & Design of Trustworthy AI, as well as a research focus on Social Cohesion in Digital Media Environments. These teams explore the challenges of digital transformation. At CAIS, the worlds of social sciences, humanities, and computer science are interconnected, with research results tested in practical settings.
Venue of the Conference: RUB Makerspace
The RUB Makerspace on the Technology Campus MARK 51°7 (former Opel administration building) offers space for the realization of ideas or creative work. In the workshops, students with an idea can realize it there, whether 3D printing, sewing, woodworking, pottery and much more.
Venue of the get-together evening event: CAIS
The evening event on October 9 takes place at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (Konrad-Zuse-Straße 2a, 44801 Bochum).
