Wir erkennen an, dass eine Aktiengesellschaft als Person vor Gericht zieht. Die Natur kann das nicht, noch nicht. Der Ansatz, die Natur als Subjekt zu sehen, könnte zu einem Umdenken führen, von dem nicht nur nachfolgende Generationen profitieren. Weltweit verfolgen Akteur*innen diesen Ansatz mit dem Ziel, ein ausgewogeneres Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Natur und ein nachhaltigeres Ökosystemmanagement zu fördern. Die Diskussion stellt Initiativen und Forschungsperspektiven vor.

Rights for nature as a human survival strategy?
What do the Ganges, the North Sea and the Whanganui River have in common? They have been or should be granted legally enforceable rights. A global survey.
We recognise that a corporation goes to court as a person. Nature can't, not yet. The approach of seeing nature as a subject could lead to a change in thinking that benefits not only future generations. Worldwide, activists are pursuing this approach with the aim of promoting a more balanced relationship between humans and nature and a more sustainable ecosystem management. The discussion will present initiatives and research perspectives.
