Student-led online Science Communication: "I am a Scientist, get me out of here!"

The International Summer School “Communicating Science” organized by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Wissenschaft im Dialog was a great opportunity to learn impactful lessons from inspiring experts and meet like-minded people from all over the world. Now, we expand the format and we invite you to a new series of regular virtual meetings addressing topics of Science Communication. The second meeting will be held on Tuesday, 30th of August, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m (CEST).

The follow-up meetings are aimed at giving deeper insights on Science Communication and additional training for hands-on activities. Further, we want to provide a platform for exchange with experts and other young scientists engaging in Science Communication. The topic of the second session will be “Online Science Engagement”. Shane McCracken (founder and project director of I am a Scientist, Get me out of here) will share some insights on online science engagement for young audiences and will answer all your questions regarding his work and career. Mihaela Bozukova, biologist and winner of a scientist award of the German version of I am a Scientist, will report from the participant's perspective on what it's like to do science communication with young students.

The International Summer School “Communicating Science” in 2021 was brought to you by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and Wissenschaft im Dialog (WiD). For the follow-up meetings, AvH and WiD have teamed up with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Germany’s largest academic exchange organizer.
