5th German p53 Workshop
The transcription factor p53 is arguably the best-known tumor suppressor, mutated in approximately half of all human cancers and dysregulated in many more. Despite decades of intensive research and a vast body of literature, many aspects of p53 biology and the molecular mechanisms through which p53 functions in different cellular and disease contexts remain incompletely understood.
Since 2017, the biannual German p53 Workshop has brought together leading researchers working on p53 in Germany. The 5th edition will take place on January 18-19, 2027, at the University Hospital Magdeburg, providing a forum for presenting recent discoveries, discussing emerging concepts and technologies, and fostering scientific exchange and collaboration within the German p53 research community.
The workshop will cover current developments in p53 research, including its regulation, mechanisms of tumor suppression, transcription factor functions, and interactions with signaling pathways, as well as implications for cancer diagnosis and therapy. The meeting will also provide opportunities for early-career researchers to present their work and connect with established experts in the field.
The scientific programme will start at 1:00 pm on January 18 and conclude at 1:00 pm on January 19.
