RDM Network Meeting
Topic: Data Storage
10 June 2026 | 2:00 - 4:00 pm | Online
Data storage is a common challenge in everyday research — whether you are working with large datasets, sensitive data, or need to manage shared data access across institutions and projects.
For our meeting, we will focus on data storage solutions — a topic prioritized by the RDM community at RUB. From handling large-scale datasets (>1 TB) to discipline-specific challenges (e.g. life sciences) and questions around storing raw vs. processed data, this session offers space for discussion, practical insights, and shared problem-solving.
Agenda
- Welcome and updates on central RDM activities at RUB
- Collaborative challenge: Working in groups to solve Dr. Lena Hoffmann's data storage chaos (case study)
- Short introductions to selected storage solutions and services available at RUB (currently planned: Research Data Storage, Coscine, ReSeeD, and Sciebo)
- Discussion, questions, and exchange of experiences
Who should attend?
Anyone interested in research data storage at RUB is very welcome. The network is particularly aimed at researchers, data stewards, technical staff, project coordinators, and others who work with research data and research data management in their day-to-day activities.
