This Summer School aims to equip doctoral candidates and early-career researchers with theoretical insights and practical tools for applying AI, machine learning, and digital twin technologies in urban contexts. Through expert-led workshop, keynote lectures, and sessions, participants will examine how digital innovation can support more sustainable and efficient city development.
This summer school offers a unique opportunity to delve into emerging topics at the intersection of urbanism, artificial intelligence, and digital modeling. Participants will engage with leading experts and practitioners through a carefully curated program that includes:
- Workshop "Fundamentals of Machine Learning and Deep Learning"
Expert Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Michael Mommert, HFT Stuttgart
In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning. Important concepts will be discussed and introduced using practical examples. Both traditional machine learning methods and neural network architectures will be discussed for classification and regression tasks. - Keynote Lecture “CitiVerse – the Next Step in Urban Digital Transformation”
Expert Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dieter Uckelmann, HFT Stuttgart - Urban Digital Information Portal: Open lecture by the founder Mr. Dimitri Ravin
- Session: "Smart City Planning and Public Participation" — A discussion of innovative planning methods that integrate community input with digital tools for more inclusive urban development with experts Mr. Martin Müller, Lebenswerke GmbH Stuttgart, Dr. Frank Friesecke and Mr. Hamidreza Ostadabbas, die STEG
- Session: "Urban Digital Twins and Metaverse" — An exploration of how digital replicas of cities and immersive technologies are reshaping urban research and practice
