About TBZ & the Plant
- TBZ Flensburg is the city’s central service provider, ensuring Flensburg stays clean, green, and well-maintained.
- The wastewater treatment plant (7.5 hectares) processes the wastewater of more than 220,000 people from Flensburg and nearby communities.
- Every day, up to 60,000 m³ of wastewater is cleaned here before being returned safely to the Flensburg Fjord.
- More than 60% of the plant’s electricity comes from renewable sources.
- The guided tour will be in English.

Practical Information
- 👟 Please wear solid shoes and washable weather-appropriate clothing (jacket, etc.), as the tour will take place outside - and because of the special surrounding.
- 🚌 How to get there:
- Bus: Lines 3 or 7 → stop “Kielseng”, short walk to the entrance
- Bike: ~10 minutes from city center along the harbor
- Walking: ~20 minutes from city center
- Car: Parking available near the entrance
