  • If one Practical in Wannsee or Dahlem is chosen, please choose 3
  • if both practicals in Wannsee and Dahlem are chosen, please don't choose another practical
  • and if all in Adlershof or virtual, then 4.
  • Pracitcal 7 and 8 should always be selected together, as they build on each other.

After the end of the registration period we will inform you in which practical you have been assigned.

Apply for a Travel/Young Scientist Support

Young Scientists are Students and PhD's unless the reguirements specify otherwise.

Evidence of compliance with the requirements must be provided to us by email upon request.

Requirements for IUCr Support:

  • Young scientists are graduate students, post-graduate students or post-doctoral fellows with a maximum age of 30 (exceptionally 35). Participants outside this age group may be considered Early Career scientists and are eligible to receive awards provided they are graduate students, post-graduate students, post-doctoral fellows or within five (5) years of receiving a graduate degree.
  •  The young and early career scientists must have published in IUCr journals and/or come from developing countries, particularly, but not limited to, from Latin America, Africa and South East Asia.

The AIC supports a Young Scientist (AIC Member) by paying the registration fee.

The HZB supports an applicant from Nigeria by covering the registration fee and travel costs.
