KEEP UP - with explosion protection

UKCA for Ex products

The UK’s exit from the EU also impacts the export of machinery and installations, equipment and components to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. CE marking will be accepted until 31 December 2021. After that, the UKCA marking will become mandatory. In concrete terms, this means that every product needs a UK declaration of conformity. The certification process set forth in Safety Regulation SI 2016 1107 is structured along the same lines as that in the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.

The webinar addresses the new requirements in explosion protection that follow from Brexit. Focal topics include the basic regulations governing the market approval of Ex equipment and components. Another emphasis is on the certification process in accordance with EN 80079-34 UKCA for existing type examination certificates, retention of documentation certificates or quality management certificates.

The webinar provides all the important information needed by manufacturers of Ex machines and equipment seeking to continue selling their products in the UK or currently interested in accessing the UK market. In-depth knowledge of the new rules and duties facilitates the processes for both maintaining Ex certificates and initial certification.
