KEEP UP - with all issues related to charging points

Enclosures – Requirements for charging enclosures

The transition to electric mobility is picking up speed – not only in Europe, but also in the USA and Canada. Naturally, more electric cars need more electric charging stations there too. As expansion of the charging infrastructure proceeds, the standards and directives on the individual markets are taking centre stage. The requirements in the USA and Canada are similar to those in Europe in many respects. Nevertheless, designers need to consider many aspects when developing charging stations for the North American market or both the European and North American markets.

The webinar focuses on the normative requirements for charging stations in the USA and Canada, focusing on the similarities with, and differences to, the applicable EU directives. The session points out the aspects that require a differentiated approach to gain access to the various markets, and the differences in the requirements that need to be observed.

This comparison is of particular interest to all manufacturers and developers interested in launching their charging-infrastructure devices on the North American growth market. Clear and in-depth understanding of the efforts involved and the challenges posed by the applicable standards significantly facilitate the processes of market access.
