KEEP UP - with cybersecurity and environmental testing

Industrial cyber security – the missing link in risk management

As digitalisation advances and the world becomes increasingly connected, the risks related to these developments are moving into focus. Cyber security is turning into an essential building block for ensuring the secure development, integration and operation of Industry 4.0 solutions.

The central issue of the webinar is the need for safe, secure operational technology (OT) as a contribution to company-wide resilience. For the first time, risk management for industrial automation and control systems (IACS) is now standardised in the IEC 62443 international series of standards. Adopting an integrated approach, the standard supports manufacturers, integrators and operators from various sectors of industrial automation as they establish cyber security as an integral process in their companies and, building on this basis, implement cyber security in the functions of their products and solutions. The webinar aims to inspire lively discussion of the topics already addressed by the standard and what may be anticipated in the future. Examples from current projects underline the practical relevance.

This knowledge and grasp of interconnections is of major significance to manufacturers, integrators, mechanical engineers and managers of components and systems. By enhancing the understanding of OT security, the webinar aims at enabling participants to define, implement, maintain and continually improve their own dynamic processes. However, by sharing knowledge of interconnections, the webinar first and foremost establishes the basis for reaffirming OT security – no longer as an obligation, but as a contribution to the process of adding value.
