>> The globalisation has its strong impacts on local level. Climate change, increasing social fragmentation, digitalisation, new economies: Cities are facing a number of different challenges. How to cope with them and what the New Leipzig Charter and its principles could contribute? These questions are at the heart of the first web session. We will hear keynotes of VOLKMAR VOGEL, Parliamentary State Secretary to the German Federal Minister responsible for urban development, as well as other high-ranking officials and experts. Furthermore, voices of European urban development experts and moderated discussions are on the agenda. <<

>> Many cities and regions are yet implementing innovative approaches. What is to learn from good practice examples from neighbourhoods, cities and regions all over Europe? This will be addressed in three interactive thematic sessions on GOOD EXAMPLES on just, green and productive city strategies. Insights will be shown from Rotterdam, Preston, Mouans-Sartoux, Aveiro, Stuttgart, Gdansk, Athens & many more. <<

Empowering our Cities to Act – What EU-Policies are Needed

>> Neighbourhoods, cities and regions are the nucleus of innovative, integrative and inclusive development, close to the citizens and their needs. At our final web conference, we will discuss what can be done on EU level to empower cities and regions to be fit for future. We will hear NORMUNDS POPENS from the EU Commission’s DG Regio, insights from the URBACT programme on empowerment through knowledge exchange as well as inputs & discussions on the future role of the Urban Agenda for the EU and much more. <<
