Bienvenida to a discussion about the future of the Mexican Navy, one of Latin Americas most capable naval forces. In an environment that is characterized by low-intensity conflict, the Armada de México still has to hedge against the full spectrum of threats. Visiting Kiel to present some of the associate doctrinal and strategic challenges is Christian Ehrlich Martínez.

Christian Ehrlich Martínez graduated from the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, National Defense University in Washington DC, where he was invited to the inaugural course of Defense Policy and Complex Threats (July 2016). He holds a B.A. in Political Science, from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Monterrey Campus (2004). Since January 2017, he works as a Non Resident Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Research of the Mexican Navy; he has since worked with the Institute on themes such as new forms of conflict, naval strategy and foreign policy. Christian is a regular speaker at both the Mexican Navy Center for Higher Studies and the Mexican Army College of National Defense.
