Potential Topics for Break-Out Sessions

To inform the break out groups and which topics people are interested in, please indicate which topics you would be interested to contribute to. Multiple choices are possible, but please don’t select all of them as this should reasonably reflect where you could e.g., be involved in a working group.

Further, there are some boundary conditions, we will not cover provision of small sensor data or data repositories as there are a lot of organizations already doing that, it needs to be at least broadly related to atmospheric science (IGAC is our parent organisation) and finally, it should have the potential for global interest. If you don’t see your topic(s), feel free to suggest more.

Applications of sensors used for e.g., citizen science, behaviour change, exposure, awareness raising, mobile use of sensors Validation options for small sensors without reference instrumentation (e.g., small sensors and satellite data) Evaluation of small sensor performance, incl. processing of data (algorithms) Resource hub for small sensor guidance (in collaboration with the Citizen Science Global Partnership Air Quality Focus Group) Small sensors for NH3, H2S, BC, BTX (less common pollutants, beyond PM, NOx, O3) Small sensor use to inform/push policy, incl. source attribution, environmental management, environmental justice Building better small sensors/technology improvement (incl. material science and opening doors to measure different types of species e.g., radicals, to improve atm chem knowledge) Small sensors for measuring indoor air pollution Small sensors for wildfires Other ideas (fill in the blank)
