In dieser Informationsveranstaltung erhalten Sie einen Überblick zu den aktuellen Regelungen der Einbürgerung in Deutschland, ggfs. unter Berücksichtigung von Besonderheiten für Studierende und Absolventen/innen.

In der Veranstaltung werden Ihnen die einzelnen Voraussetzungen für eine Einbürgerung vorgestellt und die Antragstellung mit den erforderlichen Dokumenten bzw. Nachweisen erläutert. Sie erhalten Informationen zu den besonderen Integrationsleistungen und Angaben zu den derzeitigen zeitlichen Abläufen und können alle Ihre Fragen rund um das Thema Einbürgerung stellen.

Nach einem einführenden Vortrag haben Sie die Gelegenheit, Fragen an den Referenten zu stellen.

Die Veranstaltung wird durch Herrn Peter Schlotzer, Dezernatsleiter bei der Einbürgerungsstelle im Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt und zuständig für Grundsatzangelegenheiten, durchgeführt. Sein Dezernat hat auch die Fachaufsicht für Staatsangehörigkeits-, Pass-, Personalausweis- und Melderecht inne. Er ist darüber hinaus seit über 25 Jahren Dozent für Staatsangehörigkeits- sowie Einbürgerungsrecht und Autor des Praxishandbuchs zum Staatsangehörigkeitsrecht.

Das Projekt „Future Engineering Career (FEC) Programme“ ist ein Projekt des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD), gefördert durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).

Naturalization for international students (information event)

In this information event, you will receive an overview of the current regulations on naturalization in Germany, taking into account any special features for students and graduates.

During the event, you will be introduced to the individual requirements for naturalization and the application process with the necessary documents and records will be explained. You will receive information on the special integration services and details on the current timetable and can ask any questions you may have on the subject of naturalization.

After an introductory presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker.

The event will be held by Mr. Peter Schlotzer, Head of Department at the Naturalization Office in the Darmstadt Regional Council and responsible for general matters. His department is also responsible for the supervision of citizenship, passport, ID card and registration law. He has also been a lecturer on citizenship and naturalization law for over 25 years and is the author of the practical handbook on citizenship law.

The project “Future Engineering Career (FEC) Program” is a project of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

Inhalte:

Am 27. Juni 2024 ist das Gesetz zur Modernisierung des Staatsangehörigkeitsrechts in Kraft getreten. Menschen, die in Deutschland arbeiten und gut integriert sind, können nun bereits nach fünf statt bisher nach acht Jahren eines rechtmäßigen und gewöhnlichen Aufenthalts in Deutschland deutsche Staatsangehörige werden. Bei besonderen Integrationsleistungen verkürzt sich der Zeitraum auf drei Jahre. Zudem müssen Einbürgerungsbewerber:innen ihre ausländische(n) Staatsangehörigkeit(en) nicht mehr aufgeben, um die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit zu erwerben. In der Veranstaltung werden Ihnen die einzelnen Voraussetzungen für eine Einbürgerung vorgestellt und die Antragstellung mit den erforderlichen Dokumenten bzw. Nachweisen erläutert. Sie erhalten Informationen zu den besonderen Integrationsleistungen und Angaben zu den derzeitigen zeitlichen Abläufen.

Nach einem einführenden Vortrag haben Sie die Gelegenheit, Fragen an den Referenten zu stellen.

Das Future Engineering Career (FEC)-Programm der TU Darmstadt unterstützt internationale Studierende während ihres Studiums und beim Berufseinstieg. FEC informiert, vernetzt und bereitet internationale Studierende fächerübergreifend als zukünftige Fachkräfte von morgen vor. Insbesondere internationale Studierende in MINT-Studiengängen finden im FEC einen Ansprechpartner für ihre Karrierefragen, fachspezifische Angebote und die Möglichkeit, das starke Wirtschaftsnetzwerk der TU Darmstadt zu nutzen. FEC ist ein Projekt des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD), gefördert aus Mitteln des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).

Contents:

On 27 June 2024, the Act on the Modernization of Citizenship Law came into effect. People who work in Germany and are well integrated can now become German citizens after just five years of legal and habitual residence in Germany instead of eight. The period is reduced to three years in the case of special integration achievements. In addition, naturalization applicants no longer have to give up their foreign citizenship(s) in order to acquire German citizenship. The event will introduce you to the individual requirements for naturalization and explain how to apply with the necessary documents and proof. You will receive information on the special integration services and details on the current timetable.
