Violence Prevention Network, within European Observatory of Online Hate, is pleased to host the online webinar “Digital Services Act in 2025 – Enforcement in the face of Disruptors and Developments” on February 25 2025 at 15.00 - 16.00 CET.

Registration for this event is free and open to all.

The DSA has reached significant milestones since its passage into law. Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) and Very Large Online Search Enginge (VLOSEs) have submitted systemic risk reports, analysing the risks of and responses to illegal online content within their services. The Digital Service Coordinators of each EU Member State, responsible for enforcing the DSA, continue to be designated and begin their work. 15 organisations have now achieved trusted flagger status, and are flagging online content to online platforms, with more expected throughout 2025.

Significant enforcement challenges remain, however. Will new policy and content moderation trends by some online platforms affect online platforms’ ability to meet their DSA obligations? What does this mean for hate speech online? And how will the European Commission, EU Member States, and civil society organisations working within the context of the DSA respond to these changes?

This online event will bring together leading voices who work daily within the context of the DSA. The exciting panel contains speakers from the leading civil society organisation HateAid and from CNAM (Ireland's media regulator).

Engaging their deep expertise and diverse experiences with the DSA, participants in the webinar can expect a comprehensive state-of-play on the DSA and new insight into its future. Participants will be invited into the discussion through Q&A with the panellists.

Participants will further hear more about the European Observatory of Online Hate, which offers an AI-powered tool to identify and analyse online hate speech to support law enforcement agencies and civil society organisations and prevent online harm. This was developed as a project funded by the European Union.
