What is interculturality? – We encounter interculturality in situations where our sense for what is normal, plausible, and relevant starts to falter. We feel insecure. Interculturality poses challenges to having successful communication and collaboration.

Is it possible to learn how to communicate better in complex and international environments all while meeting other national and international students?
It is! Join the A-Ney adventure, the virtual intercultural escape room. Practice your language and negotiation skills and have fun.

When: November 22nd, 2.00 p.m. – around 5.45 p.m. (break included), online via Zoom

Language: ENGLISH; Everyone interested is warmly welcomed. English B1/B2 level is advised.

The event takes place in cooperation of ZIKK and the Future Engineering Career (FEC) programme at TU Darmstadt, which supports international students throughout their studies and on their way to starting a career. FEC informs, connects and prepares international students across all disciplines as the future specialists of tomorrow. International students on STEM degree programmes in particular will find a contact point at FEC for their career questions, subject-specific offers and the opportunity to make use of TU Darmstadt's strong business network.

Was ist Interkulturalität? – Jene Situationen sind interkulturell, in denen unser Verständnis davon, was normal, plausibel und relevant ist, ins Wanken gerät. Wir fühlen uns unsicher. Interkulturalität erhöht Anforderungen an eine gelungene Kommunikation und Zusammenarbeit.

Kann man lernen, wie man in einer komplexen und internationalen Umgebung besser kommuniziert? Und das mit anderen nationalen und internationalen Kommiliton:innen?
Ja, das ist möglich! Macht mit beim Abenteuer A-Ney, dem virtuellen, interkulturellen Escaperaum. Übt, in einer Fremdsprache zu kommunizieren und zu verhandeln und habt einfach nur Spaß dabei!

Wann? 22 November, 14:00 Uhr – ca. 17.45 Uhr (mit Pause), online via Zoom

Veranstaltungssprache: ENGLISCH; Alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen. Englischkenntnisse auf dem Niveau B1/B2 sind empfohlen.

Die Veranstaltung ist eine Kooperation des Zentrums für interkulturelle Kompetenz (ZIKK) und des Future Engineering Career (FEC)-Programm der TU Darmstadt unterstützt internationale Studierende während ihres gesamten Studienverlaufs und auf dem Weg zum Berufseinstieg. FEC informiert, vernetzt und macht internationale Studierende fachübergreifend als zukünftige Fachkräfte von morgen fit. Insbesondere internationale Studierende in MINT-Studiengängen finden bei FEC eine Anlaufstelle für ihre Karrierefragen, fachspezifische Angebote sowie die Möglichkeit das starke Wirtschaftsnetzwerk der TU Darmstadt zu nutzen.
FEC ist ein Projekt des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD), finanziert aus Mitteln des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).
