The Arctic in Focus – The Next Steps“

September 23., 2025, 01:30 – 4:30 pm (CET) – via MS TEAMS

The German Association  for Maritime Technology (GMT), together with our partner, the Bremer Marissa Platform, is pleased to invite you to the second edition of our workshop series “The Arctic in Focus.”

Our first workshop on June 17, 2025, “The Arctic in Focus – Climate, Resources, Shipping and Maritime Security,” placed the Arctic firmly at the center of debate. In this opening dialogue, distinguished voices from politics, research, and industry shed light on the geopolitical and geostrategic dimensions of the High North, highlighting the complex interplay between international law, diverging territorial claims, and economic development.

Building on these insights, we are now ready to take the conversation further. On September 23, 2025, our follow-on workshop “The Arctic in Focus – The Next Steps” will bring together leading practitioners and stakeholders in maritime security. Representatives from coast guards, shipping companies, and service providers will contribute their perspectives, while technology providers will showcase innovative solutions to safeguard Arctic Sea routes and critical infrastructures.

Expect an engaging program of expert presentations and take an active role in the closing roundtable discussion on emerging challenges and future needs in the Arctic.
