International Quantum Forum 2025

The Quantum Social Lab, the TUM Centre for Culture and the Arts and the QuantWorld Project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science invite you together with our partners Fraunhofer AISEC, TUM University Hospital, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Push Quantum, Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator, Open Quantum Institute and the Global Network of Internet and Society Centers to join our renewed International Quantum Forum.

The International Quantum Forum (IQF) 2025 will unite key stakeholders from across the global quantum technology ecosystem—spanning academia, industry, and civil society. Designated as the United Nations Year of Quantum Technologies, 2025 marks a pivotal moment for the field, and the IQF will set the tone with an inspiring blend of quantum science and art. Hosted by the TUM Think Tank’s Quantum Social Lab the TUM Centre for Culture and the Arts and the QuantWorld Project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science invite you together with our partners Fraunhofer AISEC, TUM University Hospital, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Push Quantum, Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator, Open Quantum Institute and the Global Network of Internet and Society Centers to join our renewed International Quantum Forum. The event will take place in Munich on January 30–31, 2025.

Over the course of two days, in collaboration with our partners, we will connect the scientific advancements in quantum technologies, algorithms, and physics with the societal and economic dimensions of innovation, using the arts as a powerful medium for critical reflection. Public engagement will be at the heart of the event, with two evening showcases at the iconic Alte Utting and Gasteig venues, offering a rare glimpse behind the scenes of cutting-edge quantum research.

Jan 30, 7 PM - 1 AM | Alte Utting: Where Culture Sparks Science

 Step into the extraordinary at Alte Utting as the evening transforms into a vibrant fusion of quantum science and urban subculture. Discover quantum’s playful side through captivating poetry slams, thought-provoking performances, bold art, and interactive installations that bring science to life. This unique showcase celebrates the ingenuity of young researchers and artists, inviting you to experience quantum in ways you’ve never imagined. To get to know your fellows, we offer drinks and a good party in the machinery room of the Utting until 1 am. Bring your friends and enjoy the evening!

Jan 31, 11:30 AM - 4 PM | SMÄK: Experience Quantum

Embark on a "Module Parcours" that takes you through four fascinating areas: banking, health, mobility, and science, technology, and society (STS). Engage with interactive exhibits, capture the moment at the Quantum Photo Booth, and provide valuable feedback on your experience. This session is geared towards everyone - join us here!

This specific part will take place at the SMÄK, the Egyptian Museum Munich!

As a side program we offer different workshops and focus groups - hosted by scientists, but open for the public.

Jan 31, 7 PM - 10 PM |Gasteig HP8: The Grand Finale!

Conclude the forum on a high note with a captivating artistic showcase featuring music and poetry installations, thought-provoking stand-up talks, and a seamless blend of academic and artistic elements. This grand finale is open to the general public and promises to leave you inspired!
