Latin vulgaire - latin tardif XV Munich 2024

The conference will start on Monday afternoon with registration, opening speeches and plenary talks. After that a welcoming reception (included in the conference fee) will be held in the rooms of the Bavarian Academy.

From Tuesday until Friday papers in parallel sessions will be presented preceded by a plenary. Three Workshops are scheduled, Current Challenges in Teaching LVLT, The Latin of the Vulgate, and Highlights of Barbarism.

On Wednesday afternoon an excursion will take us to the ancient town of Freising. There will be tours through the reopened Freising Diocesan Museum with a special exhibition about Bavaria in the early middle ages, and the medieval cathedral (included in the conference fees). Afterwards you can go back to Munich by train or join us for a visit to Bräustüberl Weihenstephan.

On Thursday (lunchtime) various guided tours will be organised.

The conference dinner will be held on Thursday night.

On Friday the conference will end with a special session in memory of the 100th birthday of József Herman (1924–2005), the presentation of the József Herman Award and the closing session.

Saturday an excursion to Regensburg will be organized, if a sufficient number of people are interested in participating (NOT included in the conference fees).

Enjoy a night at the Brewery and join us for the conference dinner on Thursday night (NOT included in the conference fees). It will be held at the Giesinger Bräustüberl, a relatively new, but already famous Munich brewery with good food and great beer. A three course dinner (drinks not included) will be served.
