Berlin Messer Weekend 2025
- Our first installment of a large HEMA Event focused exclusively on the Long Knife -
HEMA has grown considerably over the last 5 years, and this event is an attempt to gather enough of our small niche of Messer fencing to justify a large event dedicated solely to this weapon. For this purpose, the event and all workshops will be held in English.
There will be a full-gear Messer Tournament, the results of which will be submitted to HEMA Ratings (for those that wish so).
The tournament format will feature 2 sets of pool rounds and skill divisions, that guarantee each fencer balanced matches, the same number of matches and provide a finale for every rank. There will be sponsored prizes for the gold, silver and bronze medalists.
And 4 Messer Workshops, revolving around different core aspects of Messer fencing.
Workshop instructors: Oskar ter Mors (Wapenkunst Academie Rijswijk); Ulrik Neumann (Die Freifechter); Maximilian "Ohmi" Ohmacht (INDES) and Falko Fritz (Hammaborg).
In addition, there will be more than enough space for an Open Floor for free sparring, individual exchange and spontaneous games, in parallel to the tournament and workshops.
Details regarding the tournament and program are available on instagram ( @twerchhau ) and Youtube ( youtube.com/@BjarneHEMA ).
