A Climate Double-Crunch? Implications for Development and Security in India
 - Side Event as part of the Berlin Climate Security Conference 2025 -

The event presents and discusses the concept of a climate change–induced ‘double crunch’—with focus on India—where rising temperatures simultaneously strain economic and development capacities, increase the costs and complexity of the energy transition, and, combined with demographic changes, structural economic shifts, and fossil fuel dependencies, may lead to security risks and negative development outcomes.
