Quantum innovation deep dive

We are delighted the announce the "quantum innovation deep dive" @ ARENA2036.

In the following you will find the event's agenda.

Agenda

13:00: Opening and Welcome by Managing Director ARENA2036 Peter Froeschle

13:10-14:00: Keynote with Q&A – Director of IQST Prof. Dr. Stefanie Barz

Title: “Recent advances and future challenges in photonic quantum technologies"

From the fundamental principles of quantum interference to the promise of quantum computers and quantum networks, photonic quantum systems offer a world of possibilities. I will explore various facets of photonic systems and their role in advancing photonic quantum technologies. I will begin with quantum interference, a fundamental and fascinating feature at the core of these technologies. I will explore  photonic quantum computing, with a focus on the essential building blocks, and photonic quantum networks. Finally, I will outline how photonic integration supports the scalability of photonic quantum technologies and discuss the associated challenges.

Break [15-min]

14:15-15:00: Keynote with Q&A – Dr. Ing. Stefan Hengesbach

Title: "Quantum computing at the speed of light"

Universal Quantum computing, considered a paradigm capable of solving problems beyond classical means, has seen recently significant advances using photonic qubits. Photonics seems to hold the cards that can live up to the promise of scalable quantum computing by levering on existing telecom technology. The innovations in integrated quantum photonics pushed forward by QuiX Quantum aim to address challenges such as extreme low losses, near-deterministic behaviors, scalability and energy efficient computation. In this talk we will discuss near- and long-term applications and highlight the advantages and challenges in our roadmap towards meaningful quantum computing.

Break [15 min]

15:15 – 17:00 Case Study & Workshop

·DXC Case Study [40 min] by Slawomir Folwarski and Ulrich Wurstbauer. Title: “Quantum Generative Adversarial Networks (qGAN) used to transform recoded scenas” (e.g. from day to night) without a need to record them again. Use case was a finalist in the Airbus and BMW Quantum Computing Challenge.

·QuiX Quantum Workshop [1 hour] Title: "Fundamentals of Quantum Computing"
