Rethinking ‘Never Again’

Conversations about the Holocaust assume that we all know and agree on what “never again” means. But do we?

There is a growing gap between the traditional collective understanding of “never again” and what is communicated online, in political discourse, and among different communities. How does it influence our surroundings, communities, and sense of togetherness on campus?

We invite everyone to engage in an open and honest conversation, creating a space where your perspectives can be truly heard and understood. A space based on mutual dignity and a wish to learn from and with each other, under the condition that they are offered in a manner that is genuinely respectful and not aimed at hurting others or dominating the conversation.

Yariv Lapid is an experienced facilitator in conversations about deep-seated gaps and perspectives on the Holocaust and its meaning for us today. He is a trained historian and educator.

Monika Hübscher is the contact person for the topics of antisemitism and the Israel-Palestine conflict at the UDE and an interdisciplinary antisemitism researcher with an MA in Holocaust Studies.
