Scientific Work (compulsory module)

The compulsory seminar "Scientific Work" is the English-language counterpart to the compulsory course "Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten".

You will deepen your knowledge of scientific working techniques and receive impulses for improving your scientific work. You will learn practical guidelines (tools) on the following topics:


Content

  • Practice of scientific work
  • Work planning and self-management
  • Requirements and formalities of an academic paper: quality criteria, formal structure, citation rules and systems
  • The process of writing a dissertation: searching for topics and orientation, collecting and sifting through material, structuring / organizing, writing.

Please note: The compulsory seminar "Scientific Work" is the English-language counterpart to the compulsory course " Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten". The English course is primarily intended for scientific staff and doctoral candidates with an international background who speak little or no German. Nevertheless, the course is also open to German-speaking participants. When registering, all participants are initially placed on a waiting list - international participants are given priority when allocating places. Therefore, please indicate your German language skills. Two weeks before the start of the course you´ll receive a confirmation if you have got a place.

Registration notice

Your registration for the course is binding. If you are unable to attend the course despite having registered, please cancel your registration in time so that your place can be reallocated. For organizational questions, please contact promotionsprogramm@hm.edu

Depending on the type of event, participants in these events either register by personal invitation or out of interest in the subject matter.

In order to register, you must enter the data required for participation. Only then can participation be finalized.


The legal basis for processing Art. 4 Abs.1 BayDSG iVm Art. 6 Abs. 3, Abs. 1 S. 1 lit e DSGVO for events taking place in the context of the performance of public tasks of the university and for other events Art. 6 Abs. 1  S. 1 lit b DSGVO for the purpose of implementing pre-contractual measures, which are carried out at the request of the data subject.


Your data (name and e-mail address) will be transmitted to the lecturer for the purpose of checking your participation and sending the course material. Beyond this, your data will not be transmitted to third parties. The processing takes place via Eveeno, with whom HM has concluded a contract for order processing.
