Abstract Submission & Expression of Interest in Attendance

TIPMIP is an international intercomparison project that aims to systematically advance our understanding of tipping dynamics in various Earth system components, and assess the associated uncertainties. Inconnecting and evaluating various models, TIPMIP will fill critical knowledge gaps in Earth system and climate modelling by improving the assessment of overall anthropogenic forcing and long-term commitments (irreversibilities). It will furthermore foster interdisciplinary knowledge transfer and shed light on critical processes currently underrepresented in Earth-system models and analysis.

This year we will host our second community meeting: - the “TIPMIP General Assembly, hosted by Future Earth/Earth Commission”- in conjunction with the AGU Fall Meeting in Washington, D.C.. The meeting dates are 4^th-7^th December, and the location is Baltimore, Maryland (~50 mins by train from Washington). If you want to participate in the meeting, please fill in the form below and submit an abstract. We plan on sending out the abstract approvals by the 20^th September 2024.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 8^th September 2024. 

Travel assistance and accommodation for early-career researchers and those needing additional support may be available, especially for early-career researchers and those from the Global South. If your participation is contingent on accommodation and/or travel support being provided, please indicate so here with a brief explanation. If your abstract is accepted, we will let you know about possible financial support.

• Attendance is subject to confirmation.
  
• Those submitting an abstract will be prioritised for in-person attendance. 
• The deadline for abstract submissions is 8^th September 2024
  
• You will be notified about the approval of abstracts/ contributions by the 20^th September 2024
  
• Invited presenters will be contacted to receive information for their talk, all others submitting abstracts should be prepared to present a poster on site.
  

TIPMIP loves great SciComm, and seeks to offer an opportunity for those engaged in public science communication to showcase their efforts.
