Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking NARDIV webinar moderated by Joachim Umlauf, bringing together a distinguished panel of NARDIV scholars and practitioners: Nicole Colin, Catherine Teissier, Beata Ociepka, Hanna Klimpe, Ioana Hermine Fierbințeanu, Cristian Preda, and Gabriel Horațiu Decuble. Together, they will explore how to overcome asymmetries in East–West perceptions within Europe — addressing stereotypes, imbalances, and the cultural narratives that continue to shape European relations today.
The discussion will be streamed live from the NARDIV Annual Conference in Bucharest, titled Reimagining European Cultural Diplomacy – Historical Legacies and Future Prospects of East–West Relations. The panel will connect directly to the project’s ongoing research and debates about cultural diplomacy, identity, and European cohesion.
What you will learn
Insights from NARDIV research on East–West cultural perceptions and asymmetries
Key findings from the NARDIV project’s thematic work packages on cultural diplomacy
Proposals for future action toward more cohesive European cultural exchange
Who should attend
Researchers, students, policymakers, cultural managers, and anyone interested in European cultural diplomacy and East–West relations are especially invited to attend. Broader audiences curious about European integration, cultural policy, and transnational cooperation are also warmly welcome.
At the end of the webinar, the floor will be opened to audience members.
