Terms of participation
The event is jointly organized by Leibniz Universität Hannover, and Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research, Darmstadt. In this document, the term “organizers” refers to these two entities unless otherwise stated.
1. Registration
By registering, you agree to the following terms of participation. In each case, you need to register for events in writing via the registration function on the website, by email or fax. The organizers will confirm the registration no later than upon the registration deadline. The contract takes effect upon receipt of the confirmation. If your registration cannot be considered, the organizers will notify you accordingly.
2. Terms of payment
Unless other payment terms have been agreed upon, the payment of the event fee is due upon invoicing. If a different date is stated on the invoice, this date shall apply. In case of late payment, the organizers are entitled to exclude the participant from participating.
Fraunhofer IGD (and/or the event) is VAT exempt according to UStG § 4, Nr. 22a.
3. Revocation and termination
The contractual partner may revoke the contract if he/she notifies the organizers in writing of his/her revocation by observing a time limit of at least by the end of the registration deadline. The receipt of the revocation notice by the organizers is relevant. Any fees already paid will be reimbursed in this case. If the revocation is not declared in due time, the contractual partner is obligated to pay the fee in full.
Only partially participating in an event will not entitle you to reduce the participation fee. This also applies to non-participation in an event. A participant may be replaced by another in his price category. The termination right for good cause shall remain unaffected.
4. Cancellation of events
The organizers retain the right, in particular in the case of an insufficient number of registrations, to cancel events. In this case, the participant will be reimbursed for any fees already paid. Any further claims for damages are excluded. This also applies in the case of last-minute cancellations or cancellations of events even if it should not be possible anymore to notify the participants beforehand.
5. Replacement of speakers
Insofar as the overall design of the event is not significantly affected, the replacement of speakers and changes in the agenda shall not entitle participants to withdraw from the contract nor to reduce the fee. The options to terminate the contract for good cause shall remain unaffected.
6. Exclusion from participation
The organizers are entitled to exclude participants from further participation in particular cases (e.g. payment default, disturbance of the event and operations). In the case of an exclusion, the financial claim of the organizers is based on Item 3 of these terms of participation.
7. Liability
Any liability of the organizers shall be excluded for damages incurred by the customer for any legal cause – including default, impossibility, inadequate performance and non-contractual (legal) liability – unless the damage was caused in a grossly negligent manner or with intent by the organizers. The organizers shall not be liable for damages which may be caused by viruses on copied storage media. Any storage media brought along by participants may not be uploaded on our computers as a matter of principle. Should incur any damage by an infringing activity, the organizers reserve the right to claim damages.
8. Data protection and retention
By registering, the participant agrees to the organizers saving his or her personal data. The participant agrees to the fact that a list of participants including name, first name and company may be forwarded to the speakers and participants of the event. Personal data are neither published nor forwarded to unauthorized third parties by the organizers.
9. Side agreements
Side agreements require the written form in order to be effective.
10. Applicable law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany is exclusively applicable for the contractual relationship and its execution.
11. Note on photography
Photographs will be taken and videos made during the event. These will be used for documentation and follow-up reporting. By registering, the participant consents to the use of all images of him or her taken during the event for the aforementioned purposes. By registering, the participant acknowledges understanding that no form of compensation for such usage, monetary or otherwise, will be given.
