Using personal presence, especially in difficult communication situations is a game changer to improve and optimise own performance.

Course description
This workshop focusses on supporting the development of assertiveness, self-confidence and strength in situations participants might feel insecure, nervous or uneasy.

Participants will explore the skill of a present and convincing body language to strengthen their inner attitude. By shedding light on challenging communication situations, such as presentations, meeting facilitation, speaking with supervisors and any other relevant situations they will create an awareness of their body, their physical position, their gesticular movement as a means to assert themselves and to lead a convincing argument. Especially in difficult situations, when insecurity and a feeling of unsafety emerges, this training will empower participants to manage these situations successfully.

Because the voice plays a crucial part in performance and assertiveness, participants get the chance to explore their vocal potential and learn techniques to stabilise and use their voice.

By expanding body awareness and by working on voice technique, participants learn about concrete tools to master their performance. Both, inner attitude as well as outer appearance are being considered and reflected upon to develop a confident and convincing performance and to develop personal presence as an additional professional tool.

Goals

  • creating and expanding body awareness
  • developing assertiveness and “standing”
  • gaining confidence and inner stability
  • exploring vocal expression
  • setting a helpful inner attitude

Methods
The artsbased approach invites participants to broaden their range of action through hands-on practice and interaction. Therefore, participants should be ready to reflect their own conditioning, abilities and possibilities to integrate the workshop outcomes into their professional life.
