This year’s meeting of the Remote Sensing Working Group (AK Fernerkundung) of the German Geographical Society (DGfG) will take place on October 7–8, 2026, at the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries in Braunschweig.
The systematic use of Earth observation data and artificial intelligence, combined with additional sensor or measurement data, helps us better understand our planet, support sustainable decision-making, and strengthen resilience. The combination of satellite data, environmental and ecosystem data, models, and analyses yields new perspectives on ecosystems, resource use, climate and environmental changes, and their cause-and-effect relationships, going beyond mere status assessment and monitoring.
We thus invite you to present your current research and development activities under this year’s theme “Earth Observation and Environmental Data for Society, Policy, and Sustainable Land Use.” and to discuss it with your peers from a wide range of disciplines and application areas.
Once again this year, this call for participation is specifically aimed at early career researchers, offering them the opportunity to present their work to a broad audience for discussion even at an early stage.
We are excited to welcome you to Braunschweig!
