Hands-on Training „Automotive Security – Focus on Automotive Ethernet"

This hands-on training provides insights into securing AE data and protocols such as DoIP (Diagnostics over IP) and other common standards. You'll learn how to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of communications data, identify vulnerabilities in networks, and implement robust encryption and authentication mechanisms.

Hands-on exercises on DoIP security and other AE protocols make this workshop ideal for engineers and cybersecurity professionals who want to gain hands-on skills to secure vehicle communications. This course will give you an overview of relevant tools and background information that are necessary for automated testing of vehicles and ECUs. The focus is on attacks and tests at the protocol level.

• Basic knowledge of automotive ethernet
• Relevant protocols in current model series
• Practical experience through scans on ECUs

• Security access mechanisms of current vehicle models

Participants need a functional laptop for the practical sessions (at least Intel i5 / 8 GB RAM / SSD / free access to all interfaces), pre-installed with a virtual machine (alternatively Linux) with access to the physical interfaces of the host laptop. The virtual machine is provided by the trainer in advance. Furthermore, participants should hold basic technical knowledge of micro-controllers from the automotive industry.
