Recent developments have once again shown hydrogen’s strategic importance in decarbonising energy-intensive industries and strengthening Europe’s energy sovereignty. However, despite political support and significant industry efforts, the hydrogen market in Europe is progressing more slowly than anticipated. Across the EU, we face common challenges — including regulatory uncertainty and complexity, insufficient financial incentives to bridge the cost gap between low-carbon hydrogen and fossil-based alternatives, as well as the development of infrastructure. In this consolidation phase of the hydrogen sector, deeper cooperation among European hydrogen associations is essential. Intensify our work together will allow us to address these shared challenges, unlock emerging opportunities, and strengthen the EU’s resilience and competitiveness in the global hydrogen economy. Indeed, Hydrogen clusters and associations across Europe play a vital role in connecting stakeholders across the value chain, fostering cross-border collaboration, and accelerating market deployment through joint R&D initiatives, concrete hydrogen technology applications, industry events and policy engagement. To advance cross-border cooperation in Europe, HZwo and e-mobil BW are pleased to invite you to a European Hydrogen Association Roundtable, held on the sidelines of EU Hydrogen Week in Brussels, on 30 September from 10:00 to 17:00. This event, hosted at the Representation of the Free State of Saxony, will offer opportunities to exchange insights, align strategies, and amplify our collective voice in shaping Europe’s hydrogen future – defining concrete next steps together. The event will include the e‑mobil BW Associations Networking Lunch, to which you are also cordially invited. We look forward to your participation and continued collaboration.
