To foster social or environmental change today means navigating a gap between two realities: the necessary demand for rigorous reporting and accountability, and the planet's desperate call for regeneration and complexity.
For too long, evaluation has forced us to choose between the two. Traditional evaluation often functions as an extractive exercise—mining data to count the "fruits" of a project while ignoring the health of the "soil" that sustains them.
We believe it is time to bridge this gap.
Join us for the official virtual launch of the Regenerative Evaluation Living Paper.
This publication is a collective labor of love from the Regenerative Evaluation Community of Practice. Over the past 2.5 years, practitioners, evaluators, and academics have engaged in a deep inquiry to explore how we measure and engage with change through a regenerative lens. We have synthesized these insights in our Living Paper, weaving together systems thinking, equity, and ecological principles.
In this interactive launch session, we will unveil the paper and explore:
The 3 Essential Strands: How we weave together systemic, power-conscious, and ecological evaluation lineages.
The 9 Guiding Principles (see visual below): An introduction to the core mindsets that orient our judgment and align our work with living systems.
The 7 Core Practices: A walkthrough of the methodology, guiding you through the phases of Grounding (The Soil), Tending (The Growth), and Replanting (The Seeds).
Real-World Applications: Case studies, frameworks, and methods that translate this philosophy into tangible fieldwork.

This event is just the beginning. We will also share details about our upcoming Dialogue Series, where we will invite diverse evaluators and practitioners to illuminate different aspects of the practice and explore connections with other evaluation approaches.
