International trade creates opportunities open markets and build partnerships – but it also takes place in an unequal global trading system. How can South-North business relationships be built on fair and sustainable terms? And what does it take in practice to find the right partners and products, navigate logistics and grow together?
Trade. Impact. Connect. (TIC) is a programme designed to bring these two dimensions together – linking questions of how trade relationships are structured with the practical realities of international business.
TIC connects entrepreneurs from Hamburg and Greater Accra to build fair, sustainable and commercially viable trade partnerships. Through training, mentoring, matchmaking and direct exchange, the programme supports participants in developing business opportunities across both markets. In this online session, we explore the opportunities and challenges of Ghana – Germany trade, the role diaspora entrepreneurs can play in connecting markets, networks and business contexts and we present TIC.
Our speakers
Violet Awo Amoabeng is Founder and Managing Director of Skin Gourmet Limited, Ghana's first raw, edible skincare brand. She started it in 2014 and sources its raw materials directly from producers across more than 40 Ghanaian value chains.
Isaac Newton Acquah is an Africa–Europe trade corridor expert and TIC’s partner in Ghana. He has extensive experience supporting SMEs to export and scale and has worked with GIZ’s Pan-African e-commerce initiative, ITC and trade chambers to advance cross-border trade.
