Liveable cities - what, where, why, who?

The Charter: Creating an Enabling Environment for Change

Join us for an introduction to the Liveability Design Approach (LDA), a public interest design framework that helps cities move from short-term experimentation to long-term, systemic impact.

Set within the Liveable Cities Network, this session explores how to embed co-creation, learning, and iteration into urban governance. Participants will gain practical insights into implementing the LDA, working with its training programme, and using the Charter for Designing Liveable Cities as a strategic framework for change.  We will be drawing on examples from partner cities, the session highlights how small-scale initiatives can act as “seeds” for broader transformation when linked to long-term strategies. Participants will explore how to foster a learning mindset and create the conditions for continuous innovation in city-making.

Designed for municipal practitioners and city leaders, the session connects strategic thinking with practical tools to support more inclusive, sustainable and aesthetic urban development.
