Target group
Doctoral candidates, scientific staff and researchers in the field of economic and social sciences.
The workshop is primarily aimed at doctoral candidates from the CARRI doctoral research centre.
All other HM doctoral candidates & scientific staff are also very welcome to attend the course. However, please note, that should there be a shortage of places on the course, CARRI members will be given priority.
Content
Based on a content analysis of successful and unsuccessful research projects, researchers at the University of Mannheim have developed a conceptual framework that has significantly improved publication success in leading international journals.
In this workshop, this framework will be presented step by step and explained clearly using practical examples. Participants will learn how to systematically assess and further develop research projects at an early stage with regard to their publishability.
Particular emphasis is placed on clearly positioning the academic contribution and developing a compelling research argument.
Furthermore, the workshop will demonstrate how modern AI tools can be used to refine ideas, identify research gaps and develop compelling positioning strategies.
Interactive exercises enable participants to apply the framework directly to their own research projects and receive personalised feedback.
The aim of the workshop is to develop a common language and a shared understanding of the characteristics that distinguish research worthy of publication and how these can be systematically identified.
