Training of Trainers

A prepatory pre-meeting via Zoom will be held on August 21, 2023 between 12-3 pm Central European Summer Time (local Berlin time).
Benefits
This training will provide you with a good knowledge of how to design, prepare, organize, conduct and evaluate your own face-to-face training sessions. You will be able to translate specific training needs into appropriate training objectives and practical training activities. You will practise a wide range of tools and participatory methods for all phases of training events. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to reflect on challenging situations in trainings and further develop your own style as a trainer.

Course Methods
The Training of Trainers course focuses on what happens before, during and after training courses. It is a practice-based course where learning by doing is combined with essential theoretical background and opportunity to exchange individual experiences with other peers and experienced professional trainers.
Tuition fee is 1600€
This includes:
- ½ day preparatory online-meeting with participants
5-days in-person training course
Coffee breaks
Course documentation and learning materials
Certificate of participation issued by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
Optional: For individual counselling after having completed the course, schedule an individual online follow up session with the trainer for 150€.
Target Group
Practitioners in the field of international cooperation and development, such as project/ programme manager or coordinators; field staff involved in project management; managers supervising project planning and implementation, consultants; people who wish to join the sector and perform related tasks.
SLE TRAINING in general: Our participants come from all around the globe: they include staff from development agencies, national and international NGOs, public institutions, university students and researchers as well as professionals from the private sector. This unique mix of different cultural backgrounds and professions enables a transdisciplinary exchange of experiences within an intercultural learning environment. All training courses are offered in English and participants are required to have a good command of the language.
Trainer
Gesa Grundmann is a committed and enthusiastic trainer with 30 years of experiences in training, facilitation and capacity building in Asia, Latin America and Germany. She likes to inspire and is confident that a good training is like a delicious meal: it should enrich with good ingredients, be digestible and make participants happy
Organizer
The Centre for Rural Development (SLE) belongs to the Albrecht Daniel Thaer Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture Sciences, a department of the Humboldt-University of Berlin. As a postgraduate study program, the SLE prepares young professionals for work in the field of international development cooperation, connecting science and practice. Alongside SLE STUDIES, the SLE further engages in development cooperation through its other departments: SLE TRAINING, SLE RESEARCH and SLE ADVISORY SERVICES.

The administration of the training courses conducted by SLE TRAINING is managed by the Humboldt-Innovation GmbH (HI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. HI will be your contract partner. HI uses the subcontractor Mr. Andreas Bothe, operating under the name of eveeno (Federal Republic of Germany), to handle the participant management, booking and billing.
